Get involved through serving and leading:
Being active in the Christian and church community is a vital part of our Christian walk! You have gifts, talents, and time that can always help grow and establish the Kingdom of God.
A quick thought: if you eat a lot, but never exercise, all you do is grow fat.
The same is true in our Christian walk. If you get fed through worship, preaching and fellowship you’ll grow, but if you don’t exercise and give away what you’ve been given, all you do is grow stagnant and fat spiritually. We encourage you to serve in some area of ORCC, whether that’s teaching in the nursery, leading a LINC group, serving in our food bank, or helping out with The Gathering core team.

Helps Ministry Areas
I Corinthians 12:28 calls it the ministry of helps. You are helping the pastors fulfill the vision “Reach Out and Raise Up” by making those who come though our doors of the church feel at home. Each area needs YOU either on a Wednesday, Sunday or during special services. You will be trained in each area you serve; you can serve as much as you want or just once a month in any location.
Information Center – before and after service assist in directing individuals and answer questions about the church, linc groups, etc.
Family Room assistants – before and after service – prepare coffee and refreshments with a smile; clean up after service
Greeters - arrive minimum of 30 minutes before beginning of service – greet everyone entering your door and hand them a bulletin and help assist as another walking information center.
Ushers – arrive 30-40 minutes before each service, prepare for service in prayer and direction from coordinator
Altar Call workers - be prepared to assist with individuals decisions for Jesus (this can happen at different times of the service, not always at the end)
Camera operators - for Wednesday night or Sunday morning service need to arrive 30 minutes before service begins.
Sanctuary preparation - off hours – prepare the sanctuary pews for service, with envelopes, pens and mission cards
Communion helpers - almost always one time a month – 1st Sunday of the month and some special services meet on the Saturday or day before to prepare the communion trays for service
Communion clean-up - after communion trays need to be emptied and cleaned as needed
Food Bank - after Sunday service; normally 11:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Help coordinators prepare food for less fortunate individuals – Also, 3-4 times a month during the week we pick up food for our food bank – then needing to be unloaded and stocked.
Teaching a Sunday/Wednesday Class – many people have a passion to teach others about God. Sunday and Wednesday classes are a place where you can teach a topic based, 5-12 week class on a semester basis.
Leading a LINC Group – LINC groups are our community groups that meet for a minimum of 6 months on a weekly to monthly basis, often off of ORCC campus. They can be a Bible study, a special interest or “similar life stage” group. These groups may involve more personal discipleship and accountability.
